At the moment
In light of the rapid rise in energy prices in recent months, reducing consumption has become imperative for businesses. In addition, this corresponds to one of the nine priority issues of the Energy Transition Law for Green Growth. What actions can be easily implemented to save energy in the business?

Lighting: How do you reduce this component of energy expenditure?
A simple measure to reduce energy consumption in a company consists of reminding employees of a few gestures. The first is to turn off the lights as soon as you leave the room.
Working with a preference for daylight rather than systematically switching on lighting points also makes it possible to reduce electricity consumption.
It is of course important to choose the luminaires used. Thus, LED lights provide significant savings.
Lighting accounts for, on average, 10% of energy expenditure in workplaces.
IT equipment: how to reduce energy consumption?
Again, the first measure is to remember that you should shut down your computer when you leave work.
Also, the older your company’s computers get, the more they lose in performance. Refresh your PC by choosing Energy Star-branded models.
Favor Circular economyYou can rent instead of buying. In this case, you should be aware that there are companies that specialize in computers.
Some practices related to the use of office automation tools should also be encouraged. Thus, sending emails lighter, sorting your inbox, or even closing tabs you no longer need helps consume less power.
Make sure each workstation is set to activate standby mode (to turn on after five minutes of inactivity, for example). Reducing screen brightness (reasonably for your visual comfort) also reduces power consumption.
Ensure that the building temperature is properly regulated:
In professional buildings, air conditioning can account for up to 20% of energy expenditure. It is good to remember that its use (in the summer) should not be systematic. Staff should, first of all, wear light clothing suitable for high temperatures.
Ideally, you should only activate the air conditioner when the indoor temperature reaches 26°C.
Likewise, in the winter, rather than turning on the heating excessively, wearing warmer clothes is a good first reflex. Heating accounts for, on average, 50% of energy consumption in workplaces.
So be sure to keep the doors closed in your work areas that don’t need heating. This is, for example, an archival area, storeroom, service stairs, etc. This avoids wasting energy. 19°C for offices in winter, and only 12°C for storage warehouse, is perfectly acceptable.
Also, well-ventilated spaces reduce energy consumption. Prioritize opening windows in the morning in the summer, when temperatures are lower. Conversely, when possible, in winter, it is best to wait until the outside temperature rises (usually in the middle of the day). Above all, be sure to turn off the heating at this time. In fact, a sudden drop in temperature leads to an increase in energy consumption.
At the same time, ensure proper maintenance of the VMC for your premises.
According to the results of the ECD (Diagnosis energy performance) of your buildings, it might be interesting to do renovations. This may include installing double glazing everywhere to improve insulation, repairing the roof, installing sunscreen, blinds or blinds…
