Do you want to get the perfect TV for your PS5 / Xbox Series S / X? Follow the guide!
You are equipped with Playstation 5 and one Xbox Xbox X? It would be a shame not to take full advantage of that. In fact, these game consoles have interesting technologies such as HDMI 2.1 connectivity, 120Hz, 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, VRR, Low Latency, Free Sync…
All this tech chatter is well and good, but you need a TV compatible with all of these technologies. Here are some tips to get you off to a good start.
First important point, your future 4K TV (8K is completely useless and there is no content in this resolution) should offer HDMI 2.1 ports. But above all, a 4K panel must offer 120Hz mode as well as 60Hz. If this TV provides 120Hz, you can enjoy some video games at 120fps, once certified already! I’m sorry my Qled TCL doesn’t manage 120Hz.
Obviously the second important point, this TV should offer a “Game Mode” or gamer mode to reduce the latency in the game, this is an important criterion if you want to play in good conditions. The lower the latency, the more responsive your game will be. As a general rule, if your TV offers a gaming/low latency mode, it goes hand in hand with other technologies like VRR and Free-Sync G-Sync. The more gaming options your TV has, the better!
Third point, the TV must offer most of the visual and audio technologies, such as HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, etc…
The fourth element that should not be overlooked is the size of the board. Please note that if you have a 42-inch HDTV, I advise you to take a much larger size for your 4K TV. In fact, if you take the same screen size, you won’t see any visual difference. Treat yourself to at least 4K 55 inches! Bounce back is much less important with a 4K TV due to the much finer resolution!
And the last point to consider and obviously the difficult choice (but above all financial), between QLED and OLED technology. I won’t go into too many technical details, but it’s clear that OLED is perfection in color and black, but also almost zero latency. To get a little idea, compare the classic Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch Old. Well, day and night games are much more colorful. The picture is more lively and closer to the developers vision. In terms of QLED, it is close to OLED but not equal at any time even with the best settings. I have a 55 inch TCL Qled and a friend has a 55 inch LG Oled G2 well the visual difference is really bad. But it’s not the same price!
It is clear that the OLED panel does not only have advantages. There is always a (low) risk of tagging. And given the higher price of these panels compared to QLED TV, avoid playing old games or watching channels with static banners.
my judgment
I recommend saving money, waiting for sales periods and getting Oled TV! You will rediscover your video games. I can’t wait to buy this Oled TV to fully enjoy games and movies! You can calmly leave the form LG C2 55 in. It has all the technologies offered by Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 (Game Mode, 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, vrr, low latency, etc). We may be able to negotiate this TV under 1000 or even 900 euros
If you cannot afford to spend a lot of money, you can buy a 55 inch TCL Qled TV with 120Hz Panel and HDMI 2.1 This TV also has all the technology of today’s video game consoles. This form of TCL TV is offered at 500/600 euros It often sells for 400 euros.
But hey, if you have the means, take one without hesitation. LG OLED TV (model C2). 🙂
